The best thing of being a musician is part of your work is that you get to listen to all sort of music of all genres. No you don’t spend all day practicing and listening to your own stuff but most of the time, you gotta move out of your own music genre to discover new things and then amalgamate it with your own. I was doing that the whole day yesterday, no mixing, mo practicing just listening to all sort of music which I have never heard before and trying to explore as much. As a song writer, sometimes you will stumble upon a song which you like so much that you will wish that you wrote it; I get that feeling every time I listen to Teardrops from Massive Attack.For those who plays the guitar, try playing along with the song, this is best with acoustic but a clean electric will do just fine.
